Bill Brinkman has been fixing troubled companies and managing turnaround situations since 1992, represented a broad range of companies and numerous bank groups and creditors. Bill has served as financial advisor, Chief Restructuring Officer, and interim CEO/CFO to companies both in and out of bankruptcy court, and acted as court appointed Receiver. His turnaround experience spans a wide range of industries including: retail & restaurants, food & beverage, agriculture, real estate, aerospace, security alarm, and numerous specialty manufacturing or distribution companies.

Jigsaw Advisors, LLC (“Jigsaw”), based in the San Francisco Bay Area, is a the successor firm to Jigsaw Partners, LLC, formed in 2005 as a boutique restructuring and turnaround firm that helped troubled, middle-market companies located on the West Coast.  Jigsaw Partners, LLC combined in 2010 with a complimentary advisory firm to form Bailey, Elizondo & Brinkman LLC, from which Jigsaw was spun-out in early 2013.  Notable difficult assignments that Bill and Jigsaw have completed during the past eight years include:
•Restructuring advisor to a troubled winery & vineyard as it restructured operations and $25 million of bank debt;
•Joint financial advisory to the debtor and creditors’ committee of a 28 store restaurant chain while in Chapter 11;
•CRO and CEO of a mortgage fund for which a plan was confirmed as part of a chapter 11 proceeding;
•Restructuring advisor to regional grocery chain as the company restructured its operations, its broken balance sheet and completed a sale transaction via section 363 of the bankruptcy code
•CRO and restructuring advisor to regional lumber retailer/truss manufacturer/redwood re-manufacturer which restructured its secured debt and sold its assets via out-of-court transactions;
•Restructuring advisor to large metal recycler as part of a negotiation and restructuring of its secured debt; and,
•Restructuring advisor to an 85 location quick lube operator which faced a leverage problem, deteriorating cash flow, and management issues while successfully executing a plan of reorganization sponsored by the senior secured lender in chapter 11.

In addition, Bill has advised and worked closely with middle-market private equity sponsors focused on turnaround investments, and he assisted in the diligence, close, and post-acquisition integration related to several transactions.

Prior to Jigsaw, Bill worked as a restructuring and turnaround professional at Nightingale & Associates, Baymark Strategies, and Coopers & Lybrand, where he provided corporate recovery and restructuring services to large and middle-market companies.  In addition, Bill managed a corporate development group at a public internet infrastructure company.

Bill was graduated Magna Cum Laude from Michigan State University with a BA in Accounting, and he earned an MBA from the University of Chicago.  Bill, his wife Melanie, and two children reside in Lafayette, CA.
